I started learning about wine years ago primarily because I wanted to know what I would enjoy drinking when a sommelier wasn't around - in pubs, supermarkets, etc. So I started going to lots of wine tastings. As a wise man once told me: "If you want to learn about wine, drink it". I've taken that piece of advice very seriously ever since...

I enjoyed the tastings so much that I decided to get some 'formal' training and embarked on a few of the WSET courses which were brilliant.

After speaking to many friends who constantly say to me things like: "I just want to know the basics..." "Tell me what I can order on a first/ third date that's good but isn't going to break the bank", or, "Give me some nuggets of information before I take out a client." It was agreed that it might be useful if I set up a website aimed at doing just that... I hope it's useful to you!
